2014 Concert for Chicago

First time seeing the legendary Maestro Riccardo Muti conduct live! Ever since Maestro Muti first joined the CSO in 2010, I have been wanting to see him conduct live, but life in the suburbs and the hectic culture of high school have prevented me from going downtown to see Muti and the CSO. I was not disappointed at all with this free concert…Muti lived up to and exceeded all of my expectations. The weather was great (slightly cool and very relaxing) and the all-Tchaikovsky program was played wonderfully by the CSO.

Maestro Muti gave a speech at the end of the concert, emphasizing the importance of the orchestra and how the city of Chicago needs to come together to support the orchestra, as it increases our level of culture which will improve the entire society. He also included various jokes within the speech, illustrating his brilliant sense of humor and wit. Hopefully I can make it to Symphony Center sometime to see Muti conduct inside the concert hall (which Muti made sure to talk about in his speech).
